County Stops Luhr Bros Operation
|
The Door County Planning Department issued a cease and desist order to Luhr Bros. yesterday. The company was hauling rock to be used in the construction of the Egg Harbor Marina to the Dreutzer property along the shore in Sevastopol to be loaded onto a barge and taken to Egg Harbor.
The work, expected to take place over two months, violated zoning rules. The property is zoned residential, but the operation essentially turned it into a commercial trucking operation, according to the Planning Department.
Luhr Bros cooperated and was looking for a location in the city of Sturgeon Bay to continue the operation.
